  • The hard line between caring and loving your project/idea

I've often found myself falling in love with my projects and ideas at the beginning stage. What seems like a world-changing project can sometimes turn out to be a dud when you thoroughly break it down or validate it. Without proper validation, I would jump right into VSCode and start writing code, which leads to lost time and mental fatigue. There's a hard line between caring about and loving your project. When you love a project, you’re deeply passionate and emotionally invested, which can make it harder to move on when it fails. On the other hand, caring about a project means you're committed and responsible, but it’s easier to pivot or let go if things don't work out. How do you cope with moving on from a project you've loved versus one you simply cared about? Let’s discuss the emotional and practical differences in dealing with failed projects. What strategies have you found effective in transitioning away from a beloved project that didn’t pan out?

Moving on from a project you loved can be tough, like losing a part of yourself, while leaving a project you just cared about feels more practical. For beloved projects, I give myself time to reflect, celebrate the positives, and learn from the experience. For both, I focus on channeling that energy into new opportunities or passions. Staying forward-focused and seeking support has been key.

@uncle_linton Just did, Well I have struggled a lot in the initial days of ConnectGenie AI ( https://www.connectgenie.ai/ ) it was very difficult to find Paid customers, I belonged to engineering background so i knew how to code but i did not know how to market the product, i was trying everything, but was not getting the traction, this is still not easy but it does make me depressed sometimes.

@uncle_linton I am not sure about this yet, We have paid customers, the problems is probably we are not marketing it right because if there were no paid customers then it would have meant that its a useless product, so i would stick around to it as long as i can,
