Hey SaaS enthusiasts,
To be honest, I use work-related social media platforms a lot, such as LinkedIn, Product Hunt, and some subreddits, and I consistently come across the same themes:
"My SaaS has failed, how can I recover?"
"How can I start a micro SaaS?"
"Looking for someone to buy my micro SaaS."
After reading these posts, it becomes evident that many individuals struggle to find customers. This is understandable since most of these people are software engineers seeking to leave their jobs and start software companies, which is commendable.
However, the challenge is that many of these aspiring entrepreneurs lack any business experience. This poses a significant problem, especially considering some of them invest their savings in their SaaS ventures that ultimately fail.
Consequently, I've devised a simple formula that anyone can employ to test a SaaS idea within 6 days and with just $99. By following this approach, you can avoid:
Spending 20 weeks in the development stage
Accumulating thousands in development debt
Incurring AWS (or any hosting) fees before generating revenue

Step 1: Identify a promising market to enter. You can use Exploding Topics to find such a market, or if you already have an idea, see if there's a viable market for it. This step takes about 10 minutes and costs $0.
Step 2: Utilize Webflow's free plan to create a converting landing page. Templates are available, making this task straightforward. Allocate 1-3 hours for this step, and it's still free.
Step 3: Head to tally.so and craft a simple subscription form using a template. This will help you collect emails from users signing up for the waitlist. It should take around 20-30 minutes and is cost-free.
Step 4: Utilize Canva to generate ads using premade templates. Ensure the ad aligns with your brand and landing page, avoiding any disjointed visuals. If possible, creating a video ad would be even more impactful. Allocate 30 minutes to 1 hour for this step, and it's still free.
Step 5: Launch a modest $10-12 per day campaign on Facebook or Google Ads and maintain it for 6-7 days. This will amount to $80-100.
Set a target number of signups you wish to achieve, and if you meet this goal, you can move forward with your idea.
This is a straightforward framework that can save you significant time. Remember, the testing phase is crucial, so don't overlook it.
