I surveyed people across LinkedIn and slack communities on how we evaluate SaaS solutions and/or get product demos. Here are the results. Do you agree? Do you think this changes anything?
Results:
Poke around unassisted: 46.5%
Sales-led demo: 16.3%
Walk-thru video: 18.6%
Self-guided demo: 18.6%

Looks kinda right.
my experience (B2B) is that people ask for demos when they are interested and almost looking to buy. Till then, they say "gimme a login, let me look around" Having a guided tour at that stage could help.
So, my actual vote would be for "Poke around unassisted, with guided tour / on boarding"
