Strategies for Backlink building

It’s a good topic. I am also interesting in backlink building for my new OpenQr project. 🧐

Shabnam Let’s start with the right question first. Why exactly do you need to create back links ? For regular site traffic or sales conversion?

Start by looking at the link gap between you and your competitor, then approach the writer. If you are busy with other stuff, just export the website list, there are folks on Fiverr who can do this for you.

Here's my two cents: Quality over quantity. Reach out to relevant sites, consider guest blogging, or make epic content others want to link. Also, don't forget about internal links on your own site.

Having worked with multiple SaaS companies – one of the most effective link building strategies we execute is getting into "list" posts where your competitors are mentioned but yours don't. We use Google and Ahrefs for this strategy. For Google: 1. Type the offering of your product in search - say that your a lead gen brand - (E.G "lead generation tools") 2. You'll see the top 10 search results that post - X best lead generation tools for 2023, Top X lead generation tools. - these are you're ideal targets because: - they are ranking which means they can pass on referral traffic to your website. - they are super authoritative which can be passed on to your site and help you with your own KW rankings as well. 3. Find the email address of the editor/content marketer/seo of that website and ask how you can be listed in their post (they may ask for payment, a link in return, an affiliate link from your site, etc) - Negotiations are the name of the game in this phase so have something to give in return. 4. Try on different variations related to your offer - sales tools, prospecting tools, etc. to find other link building targets. and repeat steps 2-3. --------------------------- For Ahrefs A. Plug-in your competitor's URL in the site explorer. B. Go in to their backlinks report and use these filters: - DR range 30-70 you want to make sure that you're targeting websites with decent domain ratings but not too high that they'll ignore you. - Dofollow: because they will most likely give you a do-follow link as well compared to links that are nofollow. - Website traffic - minimum of 500, you want to make sure that the sites you're working with are active. One of the signs someone is still maintaining that site is traffic. Note: Avoid sites with sudden drops in traffic - these are signs that it has been penalized. Target sites with a healthy graph of organic traffic growth within the past 2-3 years. C. Filter these sites with titles such as (best, top, tools, software, platforms) because sites with list posts have these patterns in their title. - At this stage, you already have a list of high-authority list posts where you can plug-in your brand. D. Now it's only a matter of finding who's in charge of the blog - editor/content marketer/seo (You can use hunter or lemlist) to find the emails of these prospects. E. Reach out - send a personalized email explaining why your tool is an excellent addition on their post AND make sure to offer something in return (this is key - because nothing is for free) eh? see what I did there? BONUS TIP: now that you know the patterns of these posts. E.G - best lead generation tools for sales teams in 2023. Try plugging that in to Google so you can find other posts that share those patterns. = more prospects! Second most effective link building tactic is guest blogging, but that's for another time :) Happy link building!

When I create links I bear in mind four key elements: relevance, anchor text, domain authority, and page authority. The topic of the originating website should be in line with the linked topic, otherwise, it could negatively impact your rankings. It is most effective when the anchor text accurately depicts the linked content. Domain authority measures a domain's ranking potential and the value of a link from this website. Page authority signifies the ranking power of a specific webpage.
