Startup is a grind -- the story of celsius

I was listening to the tboy podcast (highly recommended), And they talked about how Celsius energery drink grow from 3 to 160 in the past 15 years. (or 5 to 160 in the last 3 years)...basically overnight success It turned out Celsius has been around for 20 years. And all they did is energy drink. They hang around long enough, watching monster acquired by Coca-Cola and then another energy drink by Pepsi. Eventually the distributors (who were previously doing the other energy drinks that got acquired) need another one to make $$ and they decide to start shipping Celsius. The other thing they did is to change the marketing messaging before the big time. They realize that marketing to weight loss is a niche market, so then they repackaged and become a lifestyle healthy energy drink choice. So constantly iterations + keep grinding for 20 years is the key to success

Well, marketing and branding goes hand -in-hand. And success will always be on the long-run. The only thing that makes the difference between the companies in the same niche are the strategies used in branding n marketing their products. Thank you for sharing such an event ^^

@outlivo Yeah i feel one thing i've learned is the importance of marketing.. i remember someone saying that you should put the same amount of dollars as your development cost into marketing otherwise you are not doing the product a favor... i feel that is even true even if the product has a lot of virality in it
