Do you guys like that big companies use PH to launch? One one side, I am, because it's a very nice handy way to know when some of the products I use are getting a new feature. But on the other side, if I had launched the same day of a big companies, I'd feel like it's not completely a fair game. What do you think?

@gabriele_mazzola for staying up to date it's great but personally I upvote rather small, unknown products

Hey man, I totally get what you're saying. It feels like the game isn't always fair because those who are already well-known get more attention and better chances of winning. I'm not sure, but maybe having a special space just for new startups could make things more equal and fair in the competition.

It's an interesting and thought-provoking discussion! Here are some points to consider from different perspectives: Pros of Big Companies Using Product Hunt: Increased visibility and reach: Product Hunt provides a platform for early adopters and tech enthusiasts, giving big companies valuable exposure to potential users and early feedback. Validation and community engagement: Launching on Product Hunt encourages public feedback and discussion, which can be helpful for refining features and building hype. Media attention and buzz: Large brands can create a significant buzz around their new offerings, particularly when combined with Product Hunt's inherent virality. Cons of Big Companies Using Product Hunt: Overshadowing smaller launches: Smaller indie projects or startups launching alongside giants might struggle to get noticed, potentially stifling their potential. Unfair competition: Some argue that established companies have an inherent advantage with resources and branding, making it less of a level playing field for smaller teams. Distraction from genuine innovation: Critics argue that big companies sometimes use Product Hunt for minor feature rollouts rather than truly groundbreaking products. Overall, it's a complex issue with no easy answer. While the benefits of using Product Hunt are undeniable for big companies, it's crucial to consider the potential impact on smaller players and the platform's overall focus on genuine innovation. Ultimately, it's up to each individual user to decide whether they're comfortable with big companies using Product Hunt and to actively seek out smaller projects that might deserve their attention. Perhaps the ideal scenario would be: Dedicated sections or filters for smaller projects: Ensuring visibility for indie developers amidst established brands. Emphasis on genuine innovation and creativity: Encouraging all launch submissions to contribute to the platform's original purpose. User awareness and active support: Users being mindful of smaller projects and actively seeking them out on the platform. This way, Product Hunt can maintain its unique role as a launchpad for both established and emerging players in the tech landscape. What do you think?
