Someone offered to sell me upvotes for our launch

Hi everyone,
We will launch next Tuesday and someone contacted me to sell me upvotes. He guaranteed they would come from certified accounts with different IPs, etc. We're obviously not going to do that.
So I'm wondering how widespread this is. And what if Product Hunt does something about it?

Hey Taha! Aaron from Product Hunt here, we do know about these services, and of course they go against our guidelines; we have a number of different ways to detect usage of these services and using them will likely ruin a launch.
We're always working on ways to make these services not worth entertaining!

@aaronoleary Thanks for your reply. What's worrying is that the person who contacted me sent me three launches that he had worked on and that performed well (one of which even finished "1# Product of the day").
As a Product Hunt user, it's frustrating to think that you can lose on the big day to cheaters. Even if I understand that you're doing everything possible to avoid this!
