Disclaimer: I’ve personally never pitched to investors BUT … I have worked on a few different investor pitch decks, and I can say it’s critical to get to the point. Paint a vivid picture about the problem your product / service solves and the gap in the market you plan to fill. Be punchy, bring the idea to life, and (depending on the stage of funding you’re raising for) be ready to answer probing questions about the business model but don’t bloat your deck with too much data. I think 7-10 slides is a sweet spot.

Tell a story, be concise, and focus on the benefits your product will provide to the user that others will not. Features are easily replicable but customer experience and how you cater to them are not

@claytonwalker Thanks! I agree that highlighting the benefits of the product is crucial in a pitch. In addition, one of the top things investors will be looking for is that your startup is targeting a large or fast-growing market. Providing data to support this point, and articulating how much of that market your startup is targeting, can prove that your company can scale.
