In incorporating Conversational AI, healthcare is far behind other industries like e-commerce, retail or educational institutions. But in the past half-decade, the trend is picking up. Patients, like any other e-commerce or retail consumers, want information at their fingertips, and this is where Conversational AI can elevate the patient experience. Getting information through conversation is far better than filling up a form that feels dull. Plus, Conversational AI has come a long way in making those interactions enjoyable and human-like. With AI Chatbots, patients can get real-time answers to their queries on medical conditions, schedule, and re-schedule their appointments without human intervention. The AI Chatbot can help deliver medical prescriptions and remind patients to take medicines on time. I can see a lot of use cases for Conversational AI in healthcare.

Definitely room for chatbots to help out for making/rearranging appointment bookings as an alternative phoning up and having to wait on overcrowded phone lines! And if it could improve on internet diagnosis such as WebMD - which can cause a lot of extra stress/anxiety - then feels like it could help with directing people to take follow up actions Don't think they will take over the assurance of visiting/speaking with a doctor (yet) I also recently read that there's a lot of manual elements to fulfilling prescriptions too - particularly between Doctors and Pharmacies - so automating / adding AI in here could improve

good insights @madeleine_nichols Writing, managing and then analysing prescriptions is a big problem in itself

@madeleine_nichols Absolutely! There is also a lot of scope in areas such as Health monitoring ,post discharge follow-ups and medical training. Healthcare institutions around the world are always under tremendous pressure due to growing number of patients and more so when situation like Covid happens - technologies such as AI can really help in managing this and in delivering patient-centric care.

@yogesh_joshi9 exciting to see how it will evolve, are you moving into the space?
    Yogesh Joshi
@madeleine_nichols Yes - in fact, we are already working with a few healthcare clients in some of these areas. We plan to go deeper into some of the complex use cases in this space which will bring more value to them.

I imagine it so that the AI will tell the facts about medicine but will help with the script. How do you see it?
    Yogesh Joshi
@ixord Definitely! AI chatbots can provide detailed information about medicines, including their uses, dosage instructions, potential side effects, and interactions with other medications. They can educate users about various medical conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures. However, they cannot replace the expertise and guidance of healthcare professionals - at least in the near future.

Conversational AI in healthcare can enhance delivery and efficiency by providing personalized and accessible patient interactions, facilitating remote monitoring and diagnosis, and automating administrative tasks, leading to improved patient outcomes and optimized resource allocation.
