Remote work or working together in person?

Do you prefer the flexibility of remote work or the energy of in-person collaboration? Remote work offers the convenience of working from home or any location of your choice, saving commuting time and allowing for a better work-life balance. On the other hand, in-person collaboration has its unique advantages, such as the ability to communicate more directly and efficiently, quickly resolve issues, and experience the sense of camaraderie and collective effort within a team. Each working style has its own unique charm and challenges. Which one do you lean towards?

I prefer hybrid. While fully remote working has its advantages I don’t think you can build your company culture remotely. Personal interactions, water cooler conversations, lunch breaks are super important. It’s these things that build camaraderie which is SO important for a team to function smoothly

I prefer the energy of in-person collaboration. Working together in the same space fosters stronger relationships, trust, and a shared sense of purpose.

I've been working remotely for 6 years, and the only things I miss about the old office routine are the coffee machine conversations and the Wednesday pizza lunches with the team. Working remotely has allowed me to give more space to my life outside of work, which has significantly impacted my productivity in many ways. In my case, productivity has increased exponentially, even though I spend less time working compared to when I used to go to the office every day. However, there's always a bit of nostalgia for the past routines.

Remote work is great for balance, but I thrive on the direct communication and camaraderie of in-person collaboration.

I think in reality it will be hybrid. Most of the people work in office, while a few work remotely.

I love the flexibility of remote work, but nothing beats the energy of in-person collaboration - it's like choosing between WiFi and a wired connection, both have their perks!

remote = liberty so for me, remote! Definitely!

@mplebl Great choice! Distance is not a problem.
From my experience, office work is great for team collaboration. Meetings on zoom, teams etc are fine, but they lack certain flexibility. If you need total focus on certain task at hand, then yes, wfh is better option usually; but for dynamic discussions, office is better imho.

I prefer remote because it offers flexibility, eliminates commuting time, and allows for a better work-life balance. It also enables me to create a comfortable and personalized workspace. What else could I ask for?

I prefer a hybrid schedule that allows me to come in as needed: When it comes to troubleshooting issues or discussing ideas, in-person collaboration is much more productive for me.
