TRIPPY has been rebranded as [Pado : means wave in Korean].
After weeks of spending refining the look of new brand, Pado is finally here to meet you. 🙌 🌊
In this post, while Pado is rebranding,
I would like to tell you the story of discovering a problem that seems far away from the sea, observing the calm waves, meeting the rippling waves, and starting to ride that powerful movement.

1. Why change?
It wasn't an easy decision. But everyone was feeling it from the heart. Someday I have to change brand; Trippy (Name change complete. Existence is disappearing.)
Trippy's birth was a bulletin board for the NFT community. It was a space where certified NFT holders could chat and play on the bulletin boards and free bulletin boards of each collection. When I first came up with the name of the service, one of the developers threw a word to me, and I asked for it.
[TRIPPY: It’s so cool, like taking drugs] That’s what it meant. fyi, I am not native english speaker.
At the time when hype was in full swing on this floor (it was less than a year, but it felt like 3 years ago), I thought it was perfect for the fun and enjoyable NFT community life. There was something glamorous, noisy, and kitsch in the words.
The logo was also made with a Croege Vibe. I made this because I got a sprain the day I got the second vaccination. Open the door to the unknown world, and let's play and play! I made it and stretched it out.
The service gradually grew, and various functions began to take place in large numbers. It is no longer a community bulletin board service.
When the Wallet Watch feature was added, we felt strongly. ah! Trippy is no longer a crazy party leader, but a new service that is aggressive but friendly, safe but fast, light but reliable.
In particular, in order to fully use the Wallet Watch function, users need to connect their wallet to the service, and in that part, a feeling of ‘trust’, at least an image that is not scary to connect my wallet is required. Wallet hacking and scam site issues are happening day by day. In that part, I thought Trippy had a fairly unfavorable nuance.
After a few months of thinking about it, I made a decision.
Let's change it before it's too late.
1. What tasks will be required?

Rebranding a service requires more time and effort than expected. It doesn't end with just changing the name and changing the logo.
First of all, there is a lot of work to be done in the development team. You have to change all the places where the name is used in the service, you have to change the domain, you have to change all the links that follow, you have to go through the app review again, and you have to update all the remnants of the trippy left in the connected services.
You have to re-apply for a trademark, change the terms and conditions, and notify users after updating various social media accounts.
To do all of this, you first need to give it a name.
what to change the name to

1. Pado Birth
I want it to be a good word, easy to pronounce, easy to type, pretty when written down, and have a global sense.
Based on Trippy's experience, we decided to avoid negative, harsh, or difficult words in meaning or usage.
We also tried to avoid adopting words that overemphasized certain features. Since the service is just getting started, I don't know the end of the road yet, so I thought it would be good if the word itself had expandability, and on the other hand, a name that wasn't too meaningful was good. You can't have the experience of changing your name again later. 🥲
And, as it is a global service, I wanted it to be easy to use and easy to use and good pronunciation and spelling for anyone from any country. English or Latin-based words may be difficult for local (Korean) users to pronounce and write, and if the Korean word is chosen incorrectly, it may be difficult for foreigners to read when it is written in the alphabet.
I started reading a book called 'Brand Naming Encyclopedia'. It was a thick book with various words organized in Korean, English, Latin, French, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, and Japanese. I've listed up the words I picked out from this book.
In addition, I listed words related to functions implemented in the service, crypto related words, and web3 related words, and looked at Korean words written in English. When using only one word, it is often difficult to search, so I tried to combine, connect, or disassemble several words.
About 100 words were listed like that, and the elimination method was used to get rid of things that were less attractive or that did not meet the standards.
In the end, there were about 10 candidates left, and at this time, pado was already fluttering in my mind, but I kept it a secret and received opinions from the members. Please choose from number 1 to number 10. But what is this? Even though I put pado on number one to enjoy the number one effect, it was other words that got a lot of votes. 🥺
Without giving up, I quickly created a logo prototype with three words including pado and showed it to members and persuaded them.
The feeling is different when it is written as text and when it is created as a logotype. The meaning of this is good, but the pronunciation is a bit awkward, the letter height is not right, and the shape is too sharp...
Waves are easy to read with two syllables, have a good balance whether they are written in Korean or English, and their meaning is amazing. We are now riding the waves in a new world! every now and then.
Thankfully, you agreed to let Pado see the light of day.
1. Ride the new wave of web3!

I contacted my acquaintances in the US and Australia and asked how the locals pronounce Pado. They usually read it as 'pado', but they replied that it could be read as 'Pado'. So I seriously thought about whether it should be written as paado.
I almost went to paado, but I thought again if it was a fatal part to give up on the clear and clean feeling of the waves in the first place. I don't know if it's about hyundai, but I decided to use pado thanks to the test results of my acquaintances who thought that pado wasn't that far, and that some American high school students read it as pado. And I supplemented it by introducing “Pado means ‘wave’ in Korean, so please pronounce it as [pa:do]” in English.
When the logo was introduced, the reaction of the members was quite good. It has a very different feel from Trippy, which was a bit dark and kitsch, and it seems that they liked it because it had a fresh and rhythmic feel.
As soon as the logo was decided, we started to apply it to the service, and thanks to our development team who surfed the tsunami of work, the rebranded pado service was released with new features of WalletWatch.
1. Rebranding Review
If it's unavoidable, you have to do it boldly, but wouldn't it be better to do it well from the beginning so that you can't do it? -Rebranding (recently harassing the pado team and leaving somewhere)
Pado is an unprecedented service. From the concept of the service itself to the description of its features and usage, everything is still difficult. Even though I was making them (at least with me), they were still friends.
Waves are in Korean. And our members and early users are Korean. The service name has been changed to Korean, so it is friendly. Since it is an enterprising word with a sense of lightness, I feel like I want to get to know him more. The service content remains the same. I'm hoping others will too. And I hope that ‘pado’ will become a familiar word to global users as well.
