Pros and cons of paid ads

Have you had any experiences on this? I'm planning to run Google Ads for my app but haven't had much experiences. Is it a must when you want to market a new product? Or can we still do marketing effectively without spending?

CONS: You need to dump serious money for just testing, even if you are experienced adwords guy. So just playing with $1000 does not matter a lot. If you want to expect good results, you should dump good budgets before PRO: really an ideal way to scale your business when you find a sustainable LTC/CAC ratio

@medik yeah, must have think about the budget a lot, should I outsource an agency to do this?

@themaxrussell The only motivation of an agency is %%% from your budget. They are not very motivated on your success and metrics (ok, may be in long term yes). So we always worked with an inhouse PPC manger (ideally if he is a cofounder or at least with a stock option)

Well, I'm not running Google Ads now but have some experience with Facebook ads. If you're not afraid of burning some money just for testing again & again, then paid ads is the right place. Furthermore, you have to spend time on reading and analyzing statistics to find a way improve your ads. I mean lots of time! However, I agree with Evgeny that if you can optimize your ads to have a sustainable LTV/CAC, the paid ads will surely bring you good results. So my advice is Be patient, get advice from people with experiences and never stop testing!
