As someone who values journaling and privacy, I'm curious about how AI journal apps like Dot ensure the security and confidentiality of my personal information. What measures are in place to protect user data and maintain privacy? As an person who love to journal, I'm always interested in discovering new and useful journal apps. However, I hesitate to try AI journaling apps because journals are very personal, and I'm concerned about the security of my information. How do AI journal apps ensure the privacy and security of my personal data? What do you think about that?

Everyone is free to do what they want when they journal. But if you're using any journal software, then you are putting your privacy at risk. If you're concerned about privacy, the best approach to journaling is pen and paper.

I use daylio and I have been using it for quite some time, way before this AI revolution came. So I am still ok with that.

I don't journal but why do you think there could be a privacy issue with AI journal apps, there are many AI apps we use without worrying about privacy then why this?

I completely understand your concern, I use Day one which provides end to end encryption, So I am satisfied that my data is safe with them.

If you use any AI service, this will use your data to train its LLM model. Only if this service has its own instance of LLM model on a dedicate server you can be sure thet your data won't be used by the "main" AI like ChatGPT or others Maybe you could make your own app :)

Depends on whether you prefer privacy or efficiency/convenience. In today's digital age, privacy is nearly impossible to maintain. Every action we take is tracked by various apps, even when they claim otherwise. It's challenging to trust that our data isn't being collected. AI journal apps, while convenient, come at the cost of our privacy. Being aware of this trade-off and cautious about what personal information we share is essential.

Privacy in AI journal apps is indeed a complex issue, Charlotte. Balancing user data protection with the benefits of AI insights is crucial for maintaining trust and providing value.
