Yeah that's rough. I invested a big chunk of my savings in a friend's retail startup a few years back. We had what seemed like a solid business plan but just mistimed the market and failed to gain traction. Ran out of runway before we could pivot. Tough lesson but taught me the importance of really pressure testing ideas and having contingency plans. On to the next though - you'll bounce back stronger!

Sorry to hear that, I've been there too. Invested a chunk of my savings with a buddy on what we thought was a sure thing. Terrible timing and the whole thing went bust. Lesson learned - do thorough market research and have a solid plan B! Anyone else have stories of taking a risk that didn't pan out?
