Hey everyone,
My name is Dan Thomson (founder of Sensay.io), it's my first Product Hunt launch and I can see the AI competition is fierce. I would like to get some opinions around what makes a successful campaign?
What are your opinions for the best days or times to launch a campaign?
And how can we engage the Hunter community to support our project?
Sensay is a dementia care AI that works by replicating patients and loved ones to preserve their memories and empower their care by creating a dashboard to track cognitive decline.

The first step would be to determine what's the value prop for your community. Over the years, I've found that this is one of the best step in the long-term community building.

@vagrantcrypto - On PH, I'd recommend focusing on seeking help, suggestions and feedback on your marketing and sales motion. Also ensure that you launch your app on PH every 6 months to keep the buzz alive.
As you build your personal brand here; your launches are going to be smoother. However, for the community - you will have to start building one today to set the flywheel in motion. First step would be to start building one-on-one bonds with your target users.
I'm planning to create a few posts on PH about community building and share my learnings. You might want to keep an eye.

@vagrantcrypto I've talked about this a lot. If you are in for a long-term; you need to own your community. My advise is always against building community on platforms you don't control - this includes PH, Reddit, fB groups and other similar options.
The best way to build a community is to build it in open and on a platform you have control on. This means, Slack and Discord won't cut it in the longer run and they quickly become chaotic once you approach 50 active members.
Setup a platform on your own domain and build an experience for your users. Looking at Sensay; I think your users would want to build strong emotional connections - which is a perfect recipe for building a thriving community.
TLDR; use PH (and other social platform) for promotions, lead generation etc. These are not the best places to build loyal fangroup. It needs to built on your own domain in the form of an open community.

@thebigk I appreciate you taking the time. And I completely agree. Our goal is to build the community within the app itself. However, sites like PH are good for awareness and for more technical feedback.
Given that our users are not necessarily Hunters, what do you think we can do to maximise our impact here?
I think the most important thing you need to do before launching on PH is engage! Nobody will support you if they don’t know you. So here are what you need to do :
1) be active in community’s discussions
2) show your support by upvoting any project that interests you
3) make sur you been useful to everyone here on PH
Hope it helps! And welcome on PH 🤗

@jonathantahiry Do you think there is much reciprocation?
