Launching without social network?

I have a newsletter teaching Portuguese and I'd love to launch on Product Hunt. Everything that I read points out to having social media followers to be key in a successful launch. Unfortunately, that's something I don't have. Most if not all of my customers are from the older generation and not tech-savvy, so asking them to upvote me on PH isn't a strategy I want to count on. Am I overthinking it and should launch anyway? Can I still hope for a successful launch without external advertising?
