best advice: get as many beta-testers as possible. First of all: it will help you validate your product before launch and get some valuable insights on what could be improved. Do interviews with them, using the standard customer development interview framework/questions β€” this will give you valuable insights on how to best communicate the value of your product during the launch and get not just the eyes on it, but paying customers as well. Beta-testers are also very likely to be a good support base for your product. You can reach out to fellow hunters β€” most people are very open to help out fellow makers. So if your product matches their needs, they will be more than happy to check it out, provide feedback and support you during the launch. Also, ask your users to give reviews to your product/service β€” these are just as valuable as upvotes.

@kay_larina Amazing insights. Thanks a bunch. I do believe that reviews oh PH are just as important as upvotes. Then again, I wonder if one should just consolidate even reviews on PH, instead of focussing on Capterra, G2, etc. I do understand the end objectives are very different, say reviews on PH vis-a-vis a G2.

@pranabgohain depends on how big your customer base is and your end goals. Reviews will help you rank higher on the launch day. If your customer base is small and you can’t ask them for that many favours, focus g2/clutch can be indeed better platforms to focus on as you can optimise your profiles there to be visible on your competitors pages and on their category pages where your target audience may see you while researching. Also, yes: no one will be researching PH reviews if they want to check your credibility. But they will help with launch:)

@kay_larina Thanks for explaining it with such amazing clarity. I'm sure many will find this super helpful.

I am in the same boat. Looking for others opinion.

The initial first week should be discussing the right question with friends and known users, and noting down all the important points discovered for lunch. using no code platform in the second week for MVP and 3rd week will be focused on promoting and executing plans for launch day. @pranabgohain

@surya_pratap3 While we've been discussing mainly about products that have been built for a while (maybe even have beta or paid users), you've gone a step ahead, going from ideation to PH launch in 3 weeks. It's as exciting as it is scary. And let's face it, that kinda stuff IS possible today!

Overall, make every day count and stay focused on making your launch a success. Creating a timeline and prioritizing your tasks can help make the most of the three remaining weeks.

Beta testing and marketing strategy are the areas I would focus on and collect as much early feedback as possible from beta testers. Good luck with the launch!

Along with getting beta testers to review your product, try to implement those changes and follow up to let them know you have! It makes a personalized experience and sets authenticity for your brand.
Pranab Buragohain
@devreetdulay absolutely. Nothing builds credibility like following through on a request or feedback.

Be super active in the community to get people aware! Post discussions and network with as many people as possible! Test the product as much as possible and get it as polished as possible before launch (a mistake i made - didn't do enough of this)
Pranab Buragohain
@mayaa.17 you're a Rockstar and you know that. Thanks for those tips. I love that so many Makers are going to find this thread so very helpful! πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

Curious to hear the advice on this. I am not sure if the tech is ready that you are working on. If its not i recommend making a clear feature list that will be the MVP
Pranab Buragohain
@anton_von_hunerbein I quite agree. Personally, I'd rather have at least an MVP to showcase, if not beta/paid users already. With Makers' new found ability to build products at blazing speed (what with the insurgence of AI, No-code, etc...), anything less than an MVP might be early, in my opinion.

@anton_von_hunerbein @pranabgohain I have seen benchmarks of MVP has gone really high, I love the term MRP/MLP (Minimum remarkable/lovable product) instead.
Anton von Hunerbein
@pranabgohain In my case we took a bit of a bigger task. We did a whole lot of marketing before hand to see interest. Hoping to launch in 3 weeks similarly to the post!
Pranab Buragohain
@anton_von_hunerbein Wow! A little bit of detail about what 'whole lot of marketing' would be very helpful for other Makers. Good luck with the upcoming launch, btw!

communicate with Maker as much as possible. Also Post Discussion here every day!

@pranabgohain hahaha Cool glad that helps. Be as active as you can in the community so that other makers can upvote you. Also, get more points on your team account, that will help your launch for sure.

@anson_leung Yes! OUtreach is key. And what channels you use if super important. I'd bet on Cold Email and LinkedIn. Good luck with your launch!
Anson Leung

Just launch if you think it's ready. Don't overthink it, you can fix it as you go.
Pranab Buragohain
@hashnimo That's a great way to look at it. I've seen Makers spend months in prep, but achieve little results, vs. near-instant launches that have been very successful.

As a normal person, I like to have fun with video games. And having tried various games, I can say that the purchased ones are worth the money. Because the developers spend a lot of time and effort to make the perfect game and render the most detailed graphics. Try cookie clicker and you'll see what I mean.
