Recently key user perceptions related to AI: 1. Effectiveness Over Efficiency - Corresponding to Product Value a. This has been the most valuable lesson I've learned in the past year. b. If the outcome doesn't meet expectations, users won't complete their creations and retention will suffer. c. Avoid sacrificing effectiveness for efficiency, especially within large companies driven by funnel analysis. d. AI models often have unstable and uncontrollable outcomes. We can optimize user-delivered results through a "sculpting" strategy. On the other hand, we must manage user expectations, making them understand that the AI output is a draft that can be further edited. Sculpting is the fate of application-layer products. 2. Users Are Lazy and Have Inertia - Corresponding to Promotion Methods a. The smoothest approach is to enhance existing workflows in legacy products with AI, allowing users to benefit unconsciously, making integration relatively easy. b. However, introducing new AI workflow modules in legacy products through product strategies (forced integration, additional entry points, notifications) has limited impact as users are unlikely to notice or invest effort for uncertain outcomes. c. This may require operational and promotional tactics to educate users, where even a good demo video can be more effective than product strategies. Good content is random but also the strongest leverage. 3. Users Pay for Essential Needs - Corresponding to Payment Models a. For tool-based products, user decisions are rational, leading them to pay more for essential needs rather than impulsive purchases. b. Services for occasional essential needs, like paying for a festival template on that specific day. c. Services for continuous essential needs, which helps them consistently grow followers and earn money, making them more willing to subscribe. d. Currently, AI startups are better suited to serve the continuous essential needs of a few rather than the occasional needs of the masses. e. Users have been educated by the market that AI incurs costs, so emphasizing AI can increase user willingness to pay. --- Hope these insights are useful...
