🎉 Just launched Mattebox!

Post-launch update (Launch +3 days): After waiting a few days for all the data and charts to fully update, I wanted to give some extra stats on the launch: 👀 App Store Product Page Views: So far the Product Hunt launch has generated about 115 product page views (unique devices) on the App Store. 💾 Downloads: For those 115 views, there were around 70 downloads, a 60% conversion rate. Mattebox is a free app with an optional subscription. My subscription conversion rate is about 5%, which means I might expect 3–4 new subscriptions. On the surface the numbers look low. Last month someone randomly posted about Mattebox on Reddit, which led to 172 downloads over 3 days. However, one could argue that not all views or downloads are created equal—maybe the Product Hunt audience contains more influential people who might tell their audiences about your product. There's also the SEO angle. Unlike a random social media post, Product Hunt is a high-authority site which features reviews. This could help build credibility when people are searching for your product, help you rank, and have a long-tail effect on your traffic and brand. Time will tell!

Midday update (1:30 PT): Sitting at #7 all day, and spending most of my time responding to people on LinkedIn who want to sell upvotes 😅... In case you're planning a launch and wondering what kind of impact ranking #7 on a Saturday might have, here's one small data point: mattebox.com has seen 750 visitors today, which is about a 10X over a normal day in the past week. I'll follow up tomorrow with any insights from the App Store in terms of views and downloads. And a huge thank you to everyone who has shown Mattebox some love today! 💖
