Is Product Hunt the wrong activity to focus on for early-stage products?

We are launching on PH soon, and I focus 90% of my time on PH – writing to the network, generating some buzz, etc.
But I don't know if it is correct. It's known that PH users have high churn. So I'll get some users, and many will leave. And so what?
Maybe in the early days, it would be better to focus on recruiting our users manually, doing interviews, and iterating. And PH is for more mature products and teams.
What is your opinion?
P.S. For now, I continue focusing on the launch! :)

As with everything. It depends. Maybe instead try to reach your target customers directly first? And then tweak your product until the churn lowers. All new products are like leaky buckets in the beginning. Over time you plug the holes. And churn slows.

It depends on your target audience and goals. Product Hunt can be valuable for exposure and feedback, but it's not the only strategy. Consider your product-market fit and whether your audience is on Product Hunt.
