    Is it worth to pre-register for an app that doesn't give any rewards?

    I'm thinking to make my app available for pre-registration on Play Store and I'm wondering if people ever pre-register. Now, my question is: - Have you ever pre-registered any app? If so, would you do it if it doesn't give any type of rewards? Thanks

    Great question - I think I've only really pre-registered for games. Usually I'll decide to do that based on either the reward (like you mentioned) or if I'm a big fan of the IP or creator.

    Honestly, I feel that whatever you build, if it provides value to users, there will always be a demand for it. You have to show your target audience the value in your product, how it will fill their need (long term value) or want (short term value). Once they believe they can gain value from your product you will be able to create the "hype" around it and get pre registered user.

    @leon_vinny Thank you Leon! Targeting the audience and showing the value of the product (marketing) is the most difficult part and I think it takes time, a lot of time. In my case, I started it late since I wasn't planning to publish the app.

    Unless there is a lot of buzz around it, it would not certainly help. Of course if the rewards of monetary value, everybody would pre-register for sure.
