Is herd mentality setting our voting trends post product launch?

Hey there, I've spotted an interesting pattern: product rankings seem to freeze about four hours after launch. Could this be due to 'herd mentality', where people usually follow and vote for the crowd's favorites? I think not revealing the ranks for the first four hours brings some fairness. But it seems this period heavily influences the final rankings. If a product doesn't quickly gain votes, it risks being overlooked due to reduced exposure and possible 'herd mentality'. This might not allow later products to be fairly evaluated. Anyone else notice this or think differently? Thanks for the insights!
