Is there a concept of fake agile for you? I've heard this term from several people I know. Have you heard of it?

Google dark agile. That's the real eye opener.

@daniil_balyabin mhm. Agile is something gone very wrong. Invented with good intentions, abused by sales bros everywhere. When management start talking about agile, I'm gone the next day. Now making my own company. 3 years. No agile used. Never been more productive.

@eonpilot Wow, I was really surprised. Thanks so much for the eye-opener!

Agile turns out to be very opinionated. I've been in enough startups and heard from enough experts to realise that views and implementations of agile differ significantly. My mental model for agile is that in the ideal case, you use it to build as much value as possible as quickly as possible with as little risk as possible. You can apply (almost, maybe) bayesian reasoning to update the posteriors of your working hypotheses... kind of like science but with a much higher-speed feedback loop. But I think we generally find it easier to get caught up in the ceremonies and strict adherence than to think critically. So, fake agile. My view of agile might be seen as heretical, though. I regularly oversimplify it in different ways. https://twitter.com/dextersjab/s...

@dextersjab Yes, I agree that Agile is very versatile. I've heard a lot of people use agile related tools but move them to old methodologies. For example, sprint system from scrum in a project with clear project documentation (like in waterfall) Thanks for your reply!
