Is a team accountability application doomed to fail because people hate making binding commitments?

My startup, ReliablyME, has developed an accountability platform that allows people to make binding promises to each other in order to build a strong commitment portfolio that showcases their reliability and authentic commitment to their purpose and gain equitable access to opportunities. Some people I have spoken with feel it is doomed to fail because they inherently hate making binding commitments and being accountable for the promises they make.

This is a great question: I find the ReliablyME concept super interesting! I'm not sure though I fully understand :) What I understand is, that people enter a joined commitment. But what is the ultimate purpose of this? "Only" to fulfil the commitment?

@alex_todd Ah ok I think I understand it now. It's a platform that holds you accountable. So it could be used to tackle issues of procrastination in individuals for instance. As I said, very interesting!
