I'm worried that AI will worsen my writing skills.

I used to write a lot for work, but now, with many AI tools available online, I notice myself depending on them a bit too much. I'm worried that I'll lose my writing skill, especially since English is not my native. Are you facing the same issue? I'm curious how people with different occupations perceive AI tools.

I am not a writer, but I somewhat feel like using AI tools has made me a better writer as I understand how to have a different voice on multiple platforms. I feel you should always build on the copy written by AI instead of simply copy pasting it.

@muzammil_22 Thank you for the suggestion. I do agree that I've learned quite a lot about the tone of voice and word choice. Lately, I feel like my writing is somewhat similar to AI, without any human touch.

Don't worry, think of AI tools as your writing sidekick, not the main act! It's like having a grammar-savvy robot pal who has your back while you navigate the language landscape—keeping your skills sharp with a high-tech twist!

Using AI has actually improved my writing skills in one major section—research. A tool like Perplexity works magic for my research skill, constantly spurring the right questions. Perplexity makes research easier for me because it is streamlined. I wouldn’t advice using AI to write, instead use it to aid your writing.

I totally get your concern. I used to write a lot for college, but now I prefer paying someone to write my essays. I found this https://essays.edubirdie.com where you can hire a writer to do it for you. It simplifies my life so much. I can use the free time to write things I enjoy or focus on other studies. I’m still worried about losing my skills, but balancing paid help and personal writing works for me. Anyone else doing something similar?

@larue_side Interesting approach. May I ask how you can balance paid help and personal writing? Do you do research of all kinds for your essays?
