Hello everyone, I am Eric. I am currently developing my own product:Sally Suite. Since experiencing a layoff last year, I have not been looking for a job. I am a programmer with nearly 20 years of programming and development experience. I have always hoped to have my own product, and it wasn't until recently, with the emergence of AI, that I could finally bring my own product to market. Although I already have my own product, promotion has become a challenge, as I am not good at it, which makes it difficult for me. I hope to learn more here and I hope someone can help. Thanks~

Hi Eric. I can totally understand where you come from. I am a dev turned entreprenuer too. This is my 2nd stint at this. However, getting people to know about what you are building and the distribution of it has always been the biggest challenge for me. How are you approaching it?

Getting the word out there is definitely the toughest part, I feel you! What's worked for me is really nailing down who my target audience is and then figuring out the best channels to reach them. Social media ads, content marketing, even some guerilla tactics like posting on relevant forums/communities. Gotta get creative! Have you tried partnering up with other indie devs in complementary spaces? Cross-promotions can help a ton in expanding reach. Keep hustling, you got this! 💪

I feel you! Distribution is always the hardest part. A few things I've tried: 1) Posting on relevant forums/communities to get initial users 2) Reaching out to influencers/bloggers in my niche for coverage 3) Optimizing landing pages for SEO to get organic traffic 4) Targeted social media ads to reach potential customers. It's a constant hustle but diversifying acquisition channels helps. Wishing you all the best with your venture!

I can totally relate! Distribution and gaining traction are definitely the biggest challenges for indie devs. I'd suggest focusing heavily on content marketing - start a dev blog, post insights on Twitter, engage with relevant communities. Use some of the new AI writing tools to help generate SEO-optimized content at scale. Also look into platforms like Product Hunt for launching and initial exposure when you're ready. It's a grind but persistence with putting your project out there pays off! Feel free to DM me if you ever want to brainstorm growth tactics.

Same boat here! Distribution and marketing are always the biggest challenges for indie developers. A few things I've found helpful: 1) Building in public on Twitter to grow an audience as you build, 2) Partnering with other indie devs/entrepreneurs to cross-promote, 3) Leveraging communities like Product Hunt, Hacker News, Reddit to get the word out at launch. It's a grind but super rewarding when you start getting those first users! Keep at it and I'm happy to collaborate if you want to bounce more ideas around.
