I have something to say about waitlist collection.

A few days ago, I got an email saying "Welcome to the beta trial". The problem here is I don't even remember this product or when I signed up, not even the name. So I didn't bother to read further and carried on with other things. I guess this is a gap that needs to be filled while collecting a list. Just an opinion sharing because I saw someone discussing "marketing or product first". So now I went back to find that email and it is fabric.so What my point is without spamming, need to find a connection with the users. Like with social media or a community or anything. Any different thoughts on this?
