How to win even if your product is failing

Setting out on a new solo-project after many years working full time in larger organizations I want to make sure to not put every egg in the same basket. Betting everything on having one product being a financial success is risky. I tried to come up with some guiding rules and a strategy to make sure it would be a personal win, no matter if the product will generate revenue or not.
