Managing remote teams requires applying professional project management and planning tools. Choosing such tools, it's important to consider their ability to enhance productivity and efficiency. I'd recommend trying GanttPRO (https://ganttpro.com/) if you manage distributed workers. The tool offers an online Gantt chart that you can use to schedule activities, set dependencies, add milestones for the project tasks, and work with the flexible WBS hierarchies.

Highly suggest using a virtual office (like SoWork) to help people feel connected to each other + brainstorm ideas easily

To keep things simple - A clear product roadmap is one of the best ways to build high-performing teams, whether remote or in-person. With a roadmap, you can rally your team around shared initiatives, keeping everyone focused on achieving the most crucial outcomes. This focus trickles down to the work, and you'll find that productivity naturally increases as the team becomes more aligned and focused on achieving the same goal.

There are two types of tasks that needs to be done: Tactical and Strategic. Pods or people working on tactical tasks should sync up 1-2 times per day. Aim is to get feedback and do faster iterations. Strategic or long term tasks should have 1-2 times a week sync up cadence. Aim is yo give creative freedom to people who are working on long term tasks.

@ishansh_singh1 Agree, Ishansh. Having regular sync-up meetings can be very beneficial for productivity.

Don't be afraid to jump on quick calls to problem solve an issue. This may be the biggest part lacking from not being in person to ask questions in real time. Sometimes an online message doesn't do it justice

To maximize productivity in a remote team, prioritize communication, goal-setting, employee well-being, and productivity tools. With these elements in place, you can optimize your team's output and create a positive work environment.

Set clear goals and don't use google meets! It's so much better and just faster to make quick problem-solving calls via Skype, Whats app, Telegram.. Also can recommend Miro, Super clear for project management.

@aidai_zu Have not tried Miro yet. Will check it out. Thanks Aida!

@aidai_zu what's wrong with google meets? :D
Aida Zu
@tem_ab sometimes Nothing wrong, haha I just personally hate it, it takes more time on managing to schedule calls in google meets. With Whats App you can just call your teammate. During business hours of course and with a short message before calling.

Set clear expectations with your team. Put performance over presence. Track projects and review frequently. Make communication easy. Focus on positivity. Encourage freedom, ensure engagement. Lead by example. Help new remote workers feel connected and useful. https://wegovyaustralia.org/
