How long takes you to launch the first product?

Question

I'm currently feeling that I am a bit slow with my first launch (around half a year), but I expect to launch very soon, I promise!

How about you? Are you launching in weeks/month, or is your first launch expected to take a bit longer?

Well I've first launched a validation product. That took me like 2 days. But now working on the MVP of this product and that took about 2,5 months. Hopefully we can finish in 3. I wanted to do it quicker... but you know, perfection kicked in.

@danielhrdez basically. In part we are turning processes I have used as a consultant into an app, the results have been tried and tested for over a decade, so it has only ever been about how did the users want to work with it.

If we launch next month it's been over 14 months, we had a validation from our early MVP, but people hated the tech (excel equivalent), an alpha launch that was a buggy disaster, so we took a step back and rebuilt it. Our product will become complex quickly so we decided to take our learnings and build a first version and skip another MVP. I know we are incredibly slow by some standards, but I saw something recently about the actual length of time from the idea to PMF. Launching in 2 weeks, but yes i had anticipated that it would take less time, i was hoping to launch in January

@ty_robb Also I'm seeing from the chart that products like Figma, Notion, Slack... are the slowest. Interesting because all the products in the graph have success (then there is no correlation)

@danielhrdez well, I created an well designed landingspage showing exactly my vision of the product. I engaged a lot in Reddit groups where my audience is at. I listened and engaged in conversations and showed them my solution. I ran ads for €15 (total) to get new traffic on the page and let them sign up for a waitlist. After that I arranged interviews to dig deeper into the motivation of signing up.
