In my experience, marketing for startups shares similarities with traditional marketing. Still, there are notable differences in budget, target audience, agility, brand building, digital-first approach, and data-driven decision-making. Firstly, Startups can change methods quickly and prioritizes cost-effective strategies, niche markets, experimentation, and data analytics to maximize results despite limited resources. On the other hand, traditional marketing tends to focus more on reinforcing established brand images and relying on proven strategies, catering to a broader range of target audiences. It's an interesting contrast. What are your thoughts on this?

I completely agree with you. Especially in startups, things are constantly changing, and marketers always need to have a few contingency plans. It can be frustrating when colleagues or external partners also have to adjust to our changing plans, so marketers often find themselves apologizing...😔

@kim_meng That’s right! The constant changes are one of the challenges I face as a marketer and having to change marketing strategies depending on the response and outcome.

I agree with you. Big brands campaign for already guaranteed fans. On the other hand, startups pitch messages tailored to a relatively small number of early users. And digital marketing is everything.

@anna_choi Yes, big branded campaigns can bring more awareness compared to startups, which needs to be more personal.

I found that with startups, you can get and should market to your audience in a more personal approach. Much easier to get users that way that corporate way.

@alec_afforai Do you use social media platforms to make this personal approach? I find LinkedIn to be the best way to connect with the audience in a personal level ? what about you?

@pixel_dust yea I use LinkedIn quite a lot too, although LinkedIn is more to promote to investors personally. Keep them in the loop. I use instagram and twitter for brand marketing.
