I mostly rely on music, but sometimes It's a show or a video game let's play I put as a background. It just gamifies the experience and works really well for me (It distracts to check out what's happening there from time to time, but it's ok if you're doing something creative).
Very curious about your hacks!

I practice something I call Focus Cocoon. Here’s a tweet about how it works: https://twitter.com/ramonwilliam...

Music
The foundation of my flow state is a decent night's sleep. Then wake up and get the dopamine flowing with cold shower and some push-ups. Mediate for ten minutes-- more would be better, but who has the time? Then another set of push-ups or curls or pull-ups. Now it's time to bang the keyboard. Music-- no words, just vibes, usually off of youtube-- focus music or chill beats or lofi-- this occupies the part of your brain that wants to tab-hop. Black coffee. No food. And then it begins-- first time-box-- prioritize what I need to get done and then allocate time to it with scheduled breaks. Next up social accountability-- post to different start-up slacks or telegram groups or whatsapp groups what I'm planning on getting done that day and ask if anyone needs my help with anything. Then I dive in with water and coffee at hand. When I get up to pee, I obligate myself to knock-out another set of some sort of exercise on my to and back from the bathroom. Result-- in the past ten years I've built four hypergrowth startups-- Uphold, Airtm, Cadoo, and Slyk. You can do it too-- shoot your shot, stay calm, and keep taking shots on goals. Iterate and learn until you've reached that sweetspot where you're getting paid for doing what you love, what you're good at, and what you want to contribute to the world. I call it Slykigai.
@tim_parsa2 Hey Tim, thanks for such a wonderful reply. The Slykigai approach totally resonates with me. In addition, I'd wish us all lots of consistency and discipline to follow this path
Music helps me a lot when I'm immersed in my screen. but for me it is impossible to project images, it distracts me too much.
@fares_aktouf Thats interesting to hear, thanks for sharing! I also tend to listen to the old school rock when I need a boost :)
@fares_aktouf What kind of music do you prefer as a background?
It really depends on the mood, and the progress of the work I'm doing.
If I'm at the start of a project :"disco, summer pop"
If it's a problematic and blocking part : "soul, jazz"
If this is the phase where I'm solving and unblocking the project : (R&B, Groov, rock) but only old school
If this is the end and the success! Queen, Diana King, IAM, Santana, Will Smith

I tune in to my working mood with a cup of coffee and some relaxing music in the background.
@qudsia_ali Sound cozy, thanks for sharing:)
I can work better when I am listening to music. Especially if it is a slow smoothing track playing in the background.
@andrew_philip1 Do you find those playlists on youtube?

I start with the bottom of my routine list (bottom meaning least inspiring). Because once those things are done I'll be left with the more interesting / compelling tasks = days tend to get better as they go on. Saving least favorite for last was a no win prop for me, so I flipped it and it's been a boon.
@dow_osage that makes sense, thanks for sharing:)
Something really creative in this field. Congrats.
Mostly music. If it requires writing/messaging, something without lyrics (or foreign), if it's a repetitive task, something pop, alternative, or rock.
@andrasjuhasz Absolutely! Follow the same logic
