You can share about the product. Explaining what it does and why it's a needed product. Share some mockups or a demo of the product. The content created may interest some people to be engaged about his creation, and more likely to follow any sort of update about it. That's your early adopters/users. If he gets enough followers then he could probably consider launching in PH and make it to the top! From what I read, it's a long process and you shouldn't focus only on one community (separate entities). The end goal is to have an active community within the product rather than outside of it.
