I stay motivated by breaking my work into smaller tasks and rewarding myself for completing them. Regular short breaks help reset my focus, and I switch up my workspace when I need a change of scenery. Staying hydrated and having healthy snacks on hand also keeps my energy up. What works for you?

Start with something simple, easy, even it just a typo fix. The static friction is the hardest part for me.

@apolkingg8 Thanks for sharing this perspective. Starting small can really make a difference. I totally relate to the challenges with static friction.
Good Question!
Nobody is always motivated. It's a myth created by social media. Everyone has a sinusoid of productivity, and it's perfectly okay.
But it's possible to prolong your productive periods. Here's my take:
1. Take breaks
It's extremely important not to forget to take breaks, during the workday and as a whole. Don't neglect PTO, sickdays or weekends.
2. Break our the workload.
There are hundreds of studies that estimate the time you can be fully focused somewhere between 45 minutes and 1 hour. Even a small break will reset your brain and help you see the tasks you're working on from a different angle
3. Ask for help.
We're stronger together, and it's important and normal to request help and guidance from more experienced peers.
4. Do the hardest things first.
The task you can't approach because you REEEEALLY don't want to do it will drain your energy even while you're not doing it. Becasue you're thinking about doing it and even feel guilty for not taking it on. Get it over with. You'll free up loads of mental capacity.
Those are my ideas, hope you find them useful

Put away my phone and drink iced latte!

@liu_kexin Sounds refreshing. Taking a break and enjoying a good latte is a perfect way to recharge. Hope you’re having a relaxing moment.
These tips work for me to stay motivated:
- Break a big project into small tasks and set small goals for each hour. Once a small goal is reached, cross it off. This will give you a sense of achievement.
- Write down the deadlines for each task and do your best to meet them. Committing to a deadline can help with motivation.
- Search for handy tools, software, shortcuts, browser extensions, etc., to get more work done in less time. For example, I use iBoysoft MagicMenu (https://iboysoft.com/magic-menu/) to add helpful shortcuts to the right-click menu on my Mac. Now, I’m not locked into the default menu options. Instead, I can create new files, move/cut/copy files instantly, and quickly access apps and documents.
- Take a short break when a task is completed, and return to work with renewed energy.

Staying focused can be tough for me.
@priyankamandal breathing meditation can help a lot with focus even for a few minutes a day - I really like counting my breaths and restarting when I get distracted

When I have a long day in front of me then it is easy to keep myself motivated. The problem for me is with easy days. Then I'm full of distractions.
So as many people mentioned here, the best is to put your phone away, play some music and try to be in the zone
having a walk in the park at my break, drinking cup of coffee and thinking about my after work activities)
Solution for any problem - Music

@udaya_sri Yes Udaya music really does have a unique way of transforming our mood and perspective.
By prioritizing my tasks and keeping an eye on the clock so the time runs by quickly. :DDD
If you can, take some time to get outside during your breaks. A quick walk around your building or whatnot - the fresh air and sunlight are revitalizing. Helps to clear your mind by changing up your environment and get out of the indoors.

@jack_lipsky1 Such a simple yet effective suggestion. I always feel more energized after a little outdoor break. Thanks for the reminder.
My go-to's are setting mini-goals throughout the day to keep me energized, taking power naps if needed, and rewarding myself with a tasty snack or fun YouTube video after completing a chunk of work. 😄🙌 Also having an upbeat playlist helps the time fly by! 🎧🎶

Music always helps
Prioritizing tasks and avoiding multi-tasking always helps.
Break tasks into smaller chunks, take short, regular breaks, and mix in activities that energize you, like a quick walk or listening to music.
I think the people you work with really makes it easy!
