If the split is not somewhat even, investors will often be curious as to why. Using the "slicing pie" method and having sound logic behind it is always a good thing.

For cofounders, it's about a load of things -
- Are they committing full-time to this startup?
- What are they bringing to the table in terms of value, and connections?
- (*most importantly*) How compatible are we together and do we complement each other well? Do we see us working on this 5+ years or if everything goes absolutely south.
