Ad companies have a terrifying amount of data about their audiences (specific to each individual). I suspect it's only a matter of time before AI is used to show tailor-made adverts that are unique to the person that is viewing them! In some ways this might actually be a good thing - there are probably products out there that I specifically would benefit from knowing about. With more data and analysis maybe I'll be shown the right ones? On the flip side, if done unethically eg by playing on people's emotions/insecurities, then it could be pretty scary 😅
@daniel_hunt4 I agree, it's inevitable that ad companies will take advantage of AI to personalize ads. I think and hope we'll have products that meet our needs. But with all the data, they'll also be able to play on our habits and weaknesses as users to offer us ads that won't always be necessary. There will surely be some very good and some very scary things.😅

probably better example is one of the episode of Black Mirror. Marketing is not just marketing anymore. It is at life shaping level. All that process will be performed by AI and related tools.
@newyork I love Black mirror but it's scary to see all this likely in the near future. I hope that the future of marketing resides in helping people, not encouraging them to do things.
