Clear goals and skin in the game. Profit-sharing or milestone-based bonuses help. Plus, regular check-ins but no micromanaging.

@eugeneg_33 I also second the regular check-ins. I really appreciate when my coworkers check in with me to keep me motivated and remind me that this is teamwork we are doing! So each individual effort is appreciated :)
