How do you monetize your Open Source projects?

At OctoBot (https://www.producthunt.com/posts/octobot-open-source) we have tried various strategies to monetize. We have developed paid add-ons with premium features, which have been promising. I'm curious about your experiences and approaches. What has worked for you, and what hasn't?
