I recently came across a discussion here where a lot of people said that the hardest part of running a business is marketing. Personally, I've been in the marketing space for quite some time and I can totally understand that. Hard doesn't mean it can't get easier though. Hard doesn't mean impossible either. Step 1 is to know the right audience to target. Where do they hang out? And since a lot of people are online nowadays, here are some general social media stats that I've gathered from different sources across the web + my experiences (these numbers are always changing): Facebook: 3 billion users. Largest age group: 25-34. Best for building and engaging with a community, joining niched groups and targeting audiences with ads. Youtube: 2.5 billion users. Largest age group: 15-35. Best for doing research, getting in depth information on different topics due to availability of long-form content. Shorts are popular too. Instagram: 2 billion users. Largest age group: 18-24. Best for creating and posting visually appealing graphics, building a brand, influencer marketing and more. TikTok: 1.2 billion users. Largest age group: 18-24. Best for creating trend-driven content, higher potential to go viral, opportunities for creative and authentic content marketing. Snapchat: 750 million users. Largest age group: 18-24. Best for targeting mobile phone users, sharing real-time content, innovative advertising opportunities. Twitter/X: 541 million users. Largest age group: 18-29. Best for text-based content, identifying trends, industry insights, building in public, customers service, increased visibility and more. Pinterest: 465 million users. Largest age group: 25-34. Best for visual content, evergreen content/pins, inspiration, branding, traffic for e-commerce websites. Reddit: 430 million users. Largest age group: 18-29. Best for interacting with niche communities, market research, authentic engagement with users. LinkedIn: <350million users. Largest age group: 30-39. Best for targeting professionals, connecting with career experts and applying for jobs. Threads: 100 million users. Largest age group: 18-24. New platform, similar to X, engaging with Instagram audience, potential for finding new users and customers. Let me know if these help and feel free to add any missing info.

@bearsthy I would love to collaborate on this to make an infographic and let your words out more clearly. It is always easier to look at visuals and see the comparison right in front of your eyes. Would you be interested in such a collaboration? Feel free to reach out on LinkedIn
