How do you make remote work, work for you and your team?

What's helped me the most is doing ad-hoc huddles on Slack, it reminds me of moments where you randomly catch up with your coworkers around your desk and talk about random stuff. I'll just start a huddle out of nowhere and tell people to join if they wanna chat or work with someone else.
