How do you keep track of your goals?

Hi guys! I usually keep track of my goals by listing them down on a whiteboard and crossing them out 1 by 1. I usually list out things for 2 weeks at a time, that gives me the best balance of time to actually finish my work vs amount of work I can complete in a given period of time. Also treat myself to a tasty snack as a reward at the end of every 2 weeks :)

I used to take a blank A4 sheet in the morning and write down all the goals for the day (+write down the unfulfilled goals from yesterday). That was a long time ago. Now my brain works like a task tracker and I don't have to write anything down. And as a reward, I immediately satisfied my every need for food or goodies. And an interesting thing happened: over time, the number of needs during the work day decreased to a minimum =)

@myprlab I used to keep a daily task list but I would usually stuff it with too many tasks and just loose track and motivation. Its cool that you are able to keep a daily task list!

I just read all the comment, and honestly i got alot of inspiration from the comment. For me, I tracked all of the journey my goals on the social media. After i am done what i do, i hit publish on the social media i made. Tools like: - Apple notes - Apple reminder i still use the apps to keeps my goals on the track.

by putting this goal of yours out into the universe and making it something you can look at on a regular basis, you’ll be constantly reminded of your goals. It’s the idea behind a vision board, except you draw instead of scrapbook. Either way, it’s a good way to get your goals accomplished

@maryam_yousefi1 Just like what @kimcurtis said with the sticky notes! I fully believe in putting things down on paper or another medium and keeping it where you can see it! Would you rather use sticky notes or a whiteboard?

I just have a simple excel spreadsheet where I log my goals for 5 years. Although, I’m looking for something better haha. Any recommendations?

@sagarpatel10 I would definitely recommend breaking your list down into bite sized chunks so its manageable! I find that 2 week long periods work best for me when planning and keeping track of tasks but the comfortable time period is probably different for everyone, so take a moment and see what works best for you!

One of the most life changing things for me was to create 3 giant goals that are years long, like 5 year goals that @sagarpatel10 refers to. These goals align with my business, my family, and my wants, or the things that I know are fulfilling to me... Active family adventures and building my company from $0 to $1MM are some of mine as an example. Then, everything I do is aligned to these massive goals. Most other things fall away. But, about actually keeping track of goals... I consult as a program / project manager on very large projects. For larger teams where there are so many nested tasks to reach milestones, Jira and Smartsheet have been good tools. When I work with small teams, Airtable and Notion are great. And when it's our own startup's product development, we use some of the tools I've mentioned. But at the end of the day, we still have sticky notes in swim lanes on our glass door. This works because it's visual, physical, and we can't walk by it without seeing it. After all of my years of project management, whatever works for you that you'll actually look at and come back to again and again, that doesn't get lost in the shuffle, is really the best way to keep track of your goals!

Goal or habit tracking is a great way to monitor your progress over a period of time. It is meant to be observational and report back what actions you have made. A goal tracker can be a helpful accountability system if you feel motivated by building on past successes.
