How do you generate a subscription your SAAS product? Signature vs. Checkbox.

Question, there seems to be an internal discussion here :P. Should we force customers to set a digital signature under a contract. Or do we let the user see the "their package", link to the terms and conditions and check a box (within a signed in area). We are selling software in the hospitality sector... What is your experience with both?

Great question. If you're asking for asking for someone to agree to terms during the initial signup process, you want that friction as small as possible. People will surprisingly look for small things that irritate them as "off ramps" to quit the process and bail completely. I'd suggest a checkbox initially. However if you really want to make a big deal out of your terms, or make the person feel really special by signing a form digitally, then you can highlight "sign here" as an exciting step in the onboarding. For example, you put it as the next-to-last screen and say something like "Let's make it official!" or "You're almost done!" and make the signature feel like they're completing something really important.

@bwdialogs thanks! Yeah have customers ranging from single product €6,- a month. You would love them to use the auto signup and we have clients with 2200 units. They will fit in the custom bucket... So they will have seperate contract and terms.
