How do you find the right medium to promote your product on?

I have read so many articles, posts, comments saying that you can promote your product on social media for free. But how do you find the right Facebook group, the right Discord server or the right subreddit without getting reported for spam or being blocked for self promotion? How have you harnessed the power of social media for your promotion?

I think the best platform now is tiktok, is full of people that self promote and you can create your own narration, but you need to expose yourself.

@alex_tiglas noted. Tiktok promotional content is really blowing up. Unfortunately (or fortunately), it's banned in India.

@aditya_kumar_saroj DAAAAAAAAAAAMN there a lot of people in Italy that are using it for promoting drop shipping things.
Mobimag
Mobimag can be the right medium to promote your product on. We are a digital platform where you can put your product in one edition with a specialized URL that you can share to different social media. You can try us out for free and see how our platform can help you reach your target audience.

I think the best thing you can do is to look at 20+ people who you would like to have as customers and see what groups / pages / servers they engage with. Often you can find links within one profile leading to another. If you can find the right channel, then make the posting helpful. There is nothing more jarring than reading a flow of comments and suddenly a product promotion stands out for the wrong reason. If the group isn't talking about a problem you solve, then you're probably not in the right place.

@rob_alport great point. Should try looking for potential customers one-by-one rather than promoting your product in a circle where it's not even needed.

@aditya_kumar_saroj 100%, at least to start off with. If you can learn more about your prospects you can start to scale using data points to direct engagement, but those deeper early insights are critical!
