It depends on what type is it - emotional or rational negative response.

All depends on the context. Someone maybe giving a negetive response because of how they feel, but how they feel maybe being influenced by something bad that happened that morning not the product itself. Or it may be due logical fallacy - bit easier to deal with this one. All one has to do is breakdown the reasoning behind the response.

As others have said, it all depends on the context of the negative response, however if it is about a failure in the product, you use it as a learning and improvement opportunity. From a PM side, it's often the negative responses / feedback which are the most useful as they often represent the frustrations from the 'quiet' users who don't communicate with you.

@stevenbirchall Good point of view. I agree with your answer about quiet users. Negative feedbacks helped me to improve my product a lot, so I could say, that they have made part of the work for me.
