Building something amazing isn't easy, and sometimes you see others having fun around without a worry in the world. Or at least, apparently. This can be troublesome for mental health. Do you catch yourself in this situation? How do you cope with it?

Need the three D's. Desire, Discipline, Dedication. If you believe in what your working on it should require your full level of focus, and not worry about what anyone else is doing. But don't burn yourself out as it could be detrimental to your progress.

@richw I've never heard it as the three D's, but I like the principle. I'd like to add a 4th D if I may: Dopamine. As someone with ADHD it's basically physically impossible for me to feel dedication and act with discipline if my brain is lacking dopamine. I have to prioritize sleep, diet, exercise and occasionally medication in order to keep my dopamine levels where they need to be to keep driving my startup down the road.

@mark_acor Sound point. I wouldn't add it as a 4th D as onlt less than 3% of the population have been diagnosed with ADHD. I feel everyone has to be in the right health and mind to follow through with the three D's.

I've been waking up early a couple hours before work to make time for my project. It was so hard to drag myself out of bed at 6am in the beginning but it slowly turned into a routine. The work I put in at the AM hours allow me to reward myself in the evenings. Accepting invites to hangout with friend doesn't feel so guilty anymore.
