How do you approach industry events?

I’m preparing for a major industry event to showcase my startup, PlayNook– we create immersive AudioGames. We’re planning a live event, a stand, and some partnership announcements. For those who’ve attended or showcased at similar events, what strategies have worked best for you in terms of maximizing exposure, building meaningful connections and getting valuable feedback?
