Ohhh man, this has some back story to it. When I first had the idea and was looking for developers to help I tried working with one young developer with an equal split of ownership but nothing ever got done. So I then hired a web designer who would also help with developing backend, we started working on the web design and I was making him do every detail all over again as his eye for it just wasn't good judgement. Once we got the first page done the way I wanted it he then tried to strongarm me for 51% off the project- mind you we had signed a contract that had terms of what he would work on and how much he would get paid. Said if I didn't want to agree to it he would just do it himself, so I told him to kick rocks- didn't even care that I didn't get my deposit back, still haven't seen or heard about a project from him to this day. He was in a mutual Discord server asking for suggestions and advice on the web design we worked on, I seen another designer do a quick mockup of what we did and it was 10x better so I reached out to him and told him what happened and asked if he could help. He said he wasn't a freelancer and worked full time doing design but was sympathetic and decided to help me, for a fraction of the cost too. The end result was 100x better than I would expected. Then I came across 2 young developers who I hired to help get the first stage going, they had set a deadline for 4 weeks but 6 weeks later the splash page wasn't even finished. So I talked to his partner and asked him if I let him go if he would stay and work on this with me and he did. Once that was done he started on the frontend and was making progress FAST just knocking it out. We had a functional app within 5 weeks and started building a user base and community. After a couple months I offered him a partnership deal and he agreed. We've just been killing it ever since- 16,000 Discord users, +1800 registered users, and +1200 communities using our Discord bot just 7-8 months later. Through all that bs it worked out better than I had imagined in the end. Apologies for this post 🤣😂 haven't shared this story much before

@mironshe There's 2 of us founders, and 5 paid team members. 1 freelance designer. And we have 14 contributors where some do just as much as our compensated team.
