How can I prioritize tasks and determine what is most important to focus on?

One effective method for prioritizing tasks is to use the "ABCDE" method, where "A" tasks are high priority and must be completed as soon as possible, "B" tasks are important but can wait, "C" tasks are low priority and can be delegated or done at a later time, "D" tasks can be dropped or postponed, and "E" tasks are emergencies. You can also consider the impact of each task on your goals, deadlines, and workload when determining its priority.

Plot your task on impact vs effort chat. And do the task-
1. High Impact Low Effort
2. High Impact High Effort
3. Low Impact Low Effort
4. High Impact High Effort
Note: order of 2 and 3 can be changed as per the goal and other parameters

@saurao_dalvi Thanks for the suggestion Saurao! I think creating an impact vs effort chart can be really helpful in prioritizing tasks. By looking at the potential impact and effort required for each task, we can make better decisions on what to focus on first. It's also important to think about our goals and other factors when deciding the order of tasks. This method can be really useful in helping us prioritize and make the most of our time and resources.
I would say a good litmus test is asking yourself, what would happen if I just didn't do this task for a while?
If the answer is nothing, then you should focus on other things.
Usually, adding xyz new feature falls into this category, whereas fixing an older one or making sure it's usuable would fall into the most important one.
@richard_gao2 Thank you for your suggestion. We agree that thinking about the potential consequences of not completing a task can help us prioritize. It's also important to consider the impact on our goals and workload. Using tools like the "ABCDE" method can help us decide which tasks to focus on first.
