Gamification in project management and product development

Since the beginning of this year, ProductHunt is using gamification mechanics to create a loyal network, like badges, streaks etc. And I believe that these kind of things always have an impact on behaviours. Gamification has so many sub mechanics for business flow and I believe that project management & product development processes are completely fit with these features. (leaderboard, kudos, badges, points etc.) What's your opinion about gamifying project management with the help of PM or task management platforms? Cheers.
