Funding the startups (What are your experiences?)

Hi guys. Lately, I have had several opportunities to team up with startups ā€“ I was supposed to apply for funding, search for accelerators, etc. The thing is, I do not have previous experience. Please, could you provide me with your experiences, red flags, and keynotes on this topic? For example, what should I offer/provide potential investors, or in accelerator programs (KPIs? Vision?) Also, how people in this field are rewarded? Is it a commission rate when the deal is successfully claimed? šŸ—£ļø

Hello. Just as an intro , My first company, we did it all by ourselves using our own money. The growth was a bit slow but we are now a 30 ppl company. My second company, we tried to get VC and also joined accelerators. All models are different. Some accelerators charge money and 'train' you on different aspects of a startup and introduce you t VC's. Some just ask you to attend webinars and provide access to their network. If you are helping an accelerator as a mentor, then they are paid on equity and intros. VC's will take equity in exchange for investments. How much depends on what you build and what is the valuation before you raiser, which in turn depends on revenue. Not sure if this is what you wanted?
